El Sistema Greece continues to provide free music education to the children and youth of Corinth!

El Sistema Greece, a community music program for social inclusion and Fondation Kaloy – Kalogeropouleio Foundation for Arts and Culture, sharing the common goal of the intellectual development of children and the creation of a platform of dialogue and togetherness through music, across diverse communities, regardless of origin, language and religion, continue their successful collaboration in Corinth for the second year.
Monday, September 13, marks the beginning of the second year of the ESG program in Corinth, to be hosted once again in the halls of Fondation Kaloy Conservatory, offering violin, cello, clarinet and choir music education, completely free of charge, with the pioneer methodology of El Sistema and with the aim of including even more children – not only from the Attica region – to the El Sistema Greece concerts which prove that music is a unique tool for building a community free of exclusion and discrimination. All students of the program receive free instruments as well for their studies.
El Sistema Greece also continues to provide – since 2016 – high quality free music education for children and young people from various social backgrounds, in 5 different areas of Athens, including refugee centers. The program applies the unique teaching method of Venezuela’s El Sistema social program, which has been adopted by 60 countries around the world and has been recognized, among others, by UNICEF for its effectiveness in combating juvenile delinquency.
Its common goals with Fondation Kaloy – Kalogeropouleio Foundation for Arts and Culture, the belief in the power of music and the love for children and young people who hold the future in their hands, led to the pioneering collaboration of the two educational music organizations, aiming through different teaching methods at the inspiration and social integration of even more children and young people, the improvement of their quality of life and the cultivation, through music, of a more just social consciousness.
