El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra grows in 2020 and is happy to welcome more young musicians!
Are you curious to see how it is to be a member of an amazing educational orchestra, consisting of children and youth from all over the world? We are waiting for you on Saturday 18th of January to meet us in person and to understand why we feel ESGYO as a music family!
In this open rehearsal, Marinos Tranoudakis, the brass sectional leader of ESGYO and Principal Timpanist of the National Opera of Greece will introduce us to the orchestral percussion and play several rhythms and melodies.
* El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra, launched in November 2017, is an educational orchestra offering a unique process of orchestral learning based on the El Sistema Venezuela teaching principles and practices. Through a very varied repertoire and fun activities, we promote social inclusion, creativity, safe communication and musical development of a high standard. ESGYO brings young people together no matter their cultural background, musical level, goals or even language: through music we provide them with a tool to express themselves and create new dreams. During the sectional and tutti rehearsals the members learn how to be part of an orchestra under the Conductor’s instructions. The Principal Conductor of ESGYO is Safira Antzus-Ramos.
** ESGYO is open to children and youth between 8-26 years old with or without experience playing in orchestras.
