The Lullaby Project 2021: Open call for young Greek composers

The Lullaby Project 2021
by El Sistema Greece in collaboration with
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center and Carnegie Hall
The innovative community program Lullaby Project was born in December 2011 in New York, by the Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, which brought together new mothers and pregnant women with musical artists, in order to write and sing lullabies to their babies, and continues until the present day. The songs that they create are presented at the Lullaby Project’s renowned concerts, performed by such artists as the famous mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, Fiona Apple, and Natalie Merchant.
As part of its effort to support the social integration of vulnerable groups through music, Carnegie Hall has partnered with El Sistema Greece, a musical social integration program that offers free musical education to children and young people, with the aim of creating a community centered on music, free of restrictions and discriminations. El Sistema Greece will implement in 2021 the Greek version of this special project for the fourth year in a row, aiming to discover and present new stories of parental love and offer to the participants new ways to express their feelings for the little people in their lives. This year, El Sistema Greece is offering to one young Greek composer the opportunity to experience this unique creative journey and present his/her composition at the Lullaby Project 2021 final concert.
Composers interested in participating are kindly requested to send their application toinfo@elsistema.gr by Friday, January 15 including the following:
