Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center | Stavros Niarchos Hall

On Monday, December 15, at 20.00, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) is welcoming the intercultural symphonic orchestra and choir of El Sistema Greece in Stavros Niarchos Hall.

The members of El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra and El Sistema Greece Youth Choir are joining forces with beloved artists of the Greek music scene, Spyros Grammenos, Penny Baltatzi, Sugahsbank! and MC Yinka, in a musical partnership that bridges the classical with the modern.

The Jingle Jam concert features covers of songs that have left their mark on contemporary music, from Bolero / Little Drummer Boy to the Greek Flasaki and Koutsi Kithara, to Stand By Me and Happy Xmas (War Is Over). Through creative musical dialogues, El Sistema Greece is reintroducing beloved pieces, bringing them from the past to the present and revealing their timeless power.

The orchestra will be conducted by Kyriaki Kountouri and the choir by Vagia Papagiannopoulou.

The SNFCC actively supports the work of El Sistema Greece from its first steps, offering its musicians valuable opportunities to participate in concerts of high standards and develop as musicians in an environment of creativity and cooperation.

The event is staged thanks to a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
