Join the El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra

Do you love music and want to be part of a vibrant, intercultural community?
The El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra is welcoming new members!

El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra is an intercultural ensemble for young musicians aged 10–26 who play violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, French horn or percussion.

Our orchestra follows the innovative teaching methods of El Sistema Venezuela, offering a unique experience in collaborative music-making. The orchestra’s conductor is Kyriaki Kountouri. The repertoire includes original orchestrations as well as arrangements of classical symphonic works (Brahms, Sibelius, Dvořák), film music (Klaus Badelt, Frederick Loewe, Andrew Lloyd Webber), and orchestral works by Latin American composers (Arturo Márquez, Pérez Prado, Carlos García).

Rehearsals take place every Saturday from 16:00 to 19:00 at Malliaras School in Alimos. To join the orchestra, contact Lydia Margari at [email protected] or call +30 694 824 6468. We would be happy to welcome you to one of our rehearsals!

El Sistema Greece is an educational music program for social inclusion that offers high quality free music education to children and young people in Greece. It aims at building an inclusive music community that celebrates diversity and empowers students by developing their music skills and stimulating their independent thinking and agency. Our activities are open to all children and are provided in groups for free.

* The orchestra members are provided with free transportation from and to Syntagma, Kypseli and Penteli
