Alexandros Charalambous

Cello Teacher

He was born in 1982 in Athens and started playing the cello at the age of 8 with D. Gouzios. He continued with P. Reboutsika and M. Kislitsa from whose class he received a Diploma with the grade “Excellent Unanimous and B’ Prize”. He completed his studies at the Pancho Vladigerov State Academy in Sofia with Professor A. Krastev, obtaining a Bachelor’s Diploma, as well as a Master’s degree with the scholarship of the Maria Kasimatis Foundation. He has worked in the orchestras of the Municipality of Athens, PPC Music Ensembles, ERT Symphony Orchestra, ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra, S.O. of New Psychiko, Akademika, Orchestra of Colours, Athens State Orchestra and in major musical productions. He is a founding member of the Quattro Elementi quartet with which, as well as with several other groups, he has participated in many chamber music concerts in Greece and abroad. He has also performed in first performances of works by young Greek composers and participated in recordings for various genres of music. He teaches at the Athens Music School and at conservatories in Athens and Corinth.
