Giannis Panagiotou was born in Athens. He started trumpet with Professor Ioannis Moraitis (International Conservatory of Athens). He is a graduate of the HKU Utrecht Conservatory (Utrecht, Netherlands) in the class of Professor Arto Hoornweg (Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra) in the classical department. He is also a graduate of the Physiotherapy Department of Athens with experience and scientific study of the Respiratory function of musical wind instruments. He has worked with professional musicians in the area of physical therapy rehabilitation from injuries related to the performance of a musical instrument as well as ergonomics and posture of musicians. He has attended seminars with some of the most important trumpet teachers (Markus Stockhausen, Jeroen Bewarts, Marco Pierobon, Fritz Damrow, Roy Poper, etc.). He has been a member of the Athens Youth Symphony Orchestra (ASON). He has collaborated with the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and ERT Radio Symphony Orchestra and projects With Orchestra of Greek National Opera and other Greek and Dutch orchestras. Ηe has been teaching for years at different music schools in the Netherlands and Greece. He has worked as trumpet teacher at Philippos Nakas Conservatory since 2020. His collaboration with El Sistema Greece started in 2022.
