Stavros Klavanidis was born in Athens. He began his trombone studies at the age of 18 at the Athens Conservatory (professor Anastasios Klavanidis ) from where he graduated getting his diploma ( ‘𝘤𝘶𝘮 𝘭𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘦’ distinction ) in 2004. In 2002 he was accepted by the Artisten Music Academy in Gothenburg, Sweden, where he attended studies for a year under the instructions of the internationally renowned trombone teacher Ingermar Roos, with whom he enriched his knowledge in the interpretation of musical texts, chamber music and musical passages.He has participated in trombone seminars, with teachers such as Antonis Gerochristodoulou, Ingermar Roos, Jonas Byllunt, Jessika Gustafsson. He has collaborated with almost all Greek musical ensembles ( Greek National Opera, Greek State Orchestra, Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours, Enharmonia Orchestra, Athens Municipality Symphony Orchestra). From 1999 to 2002 he was a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Hellenic Coast Guard and from 2002 to 2005 a member of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Municipality of Piraeus. Since 2005 he has been a member of the Greek National Opera.
