The El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra is welcoming new members aged 10–26, offering young musicians a comprehensive group music education experience based on the educational approach of El Sistema.
The symphony orchestra brings together strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion, and is open to musicians who play violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, French horn or percussion.
Its intermediate-level repertoire includes arrangements of symphonic works from different periods, as well as Latin and film music. Through rehearsals and performances, musicians develop their technique, autonomy and ability to perform as part of a complex orchestral ensemble. The orchestra is conducted by Kyriaki Kountouri.
Rehearsals take place every Saturday, from 16:00 to 19:00, at Nea Ekpaideftiria G. Malliara in Alimos. Free transportation is provided to and from Syntagma, Kypseli and Penteli.
To join or for more information, contact Lydia Margari at [email protected]. Applications until Tuesday, October 13.
