  • “Wanderlust” concert by Sistema Cyprus & El Sistema Greece with the support of XM

On Monday, December 23, 2024, at 7:00 pm, Sistema Cyprus and El Sistema Greece will present a distinctive and captivating concert. Sistema Cyprus, in collaboration with XM, will present on stage young musicians from Cyprus and Greece, who will join forces to deliver a musical performance inspired by different cultures and eras. This performance will feature an eclectic repertoire, drawing inspiration from a variety of cultures and historical periods, reflecting the transformative potential of music as a medium for exploration, communication, and social change.

The program will include classical masterpieces such as Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture and Shostakovich’s Waltz No. 2, and Étincelles, a contemporary work by Cypriot composer Kyriaki Iakovidou. Through this variety of works, the concert will highlight the power of music to bridge cultural gaps, encourage dialogue and cooperation as well as social inclusion.

The concert will be conducted under the artistic direction of Santiago Ossa Alzate, and Zoe Zeniodis, Artistic Director of El Sistema Greece, and Kyriaki Kountouri, conductor of El Sistema Greece. The joint leadership of the three conductors reflects the spirit of cooperation between the two organizations and the shared commitment to music as a means for cultural dialogue and social change.

Don’t miss the opportunity to attend the Wanderlust concert, where the partnership between Sistema Cyprus and El Sistema Greece will be brought to life, offering a powerful demonstration of the unifying force of music across borders and communities.
