On Thursday 22 June at 19.30 El Sistema Greece celebrates the end of the academic year with a big concert with the participation of more than 120 students at Serafio City of Athens in the framework of Refugee Week Greece.
El Sistema Greece concludes another musical year with the realization of its summer camp, which gives the opportunity to all its students to work together regardless of their origin, language or religion, as they are united by their common love for music. Students with 30 different nationalities and coming from the 6 action points of El Sistema Greece in Attica and Corinth, will meet at Serafio City of Athens to collaborate, exchange knowledge and experiences and create their own great musical community. These days will be full of educational musical activities and rehearsals that will close festively with a big concert, conducted by Jose Angel Salazar Marin in the orchestra and Vagia Papagiyanopoulou in the choir. The concert is part of Refugee Week Greece, which is a global and dynamic movement and cultural festival that celebrates the contribution, creativity and authenticity of people who have experienced migration.
The concert will present a diverse repertoire that highlights the students’ intercultural background, enabling them to develop an appreciation and understanding of the richness and contribution of different cultures in the field of music.
