Pepper 96.6 presents a special concert featuring the musical ensembles of El Sistema Greece on Friday, February 6, at 20.30, at the Anglican Church of St. Paul.
Three musical ensembles take the stage, bringing to life the organization’s vision of creating open, intercultural communities united through music.
The concert features the Strings Ensemble, conducted by Kyriaki Kountouri, the Decibel Collective, conducted by Konstantina Ventouri-Roussou, and the choral ensembles El Sistema Greece Youth Choir and Voxettes, both conducted by Vagia Papagiannopoulou.
The program includes classical and contemporary works for small ensembles, pop arrangements, and music from Latin America, inspired by Venezuela’s El Sistema and the joy of collective music-making.
This concert captures the very essence of El Sistema Greece: music as a space for connection, collaboration, and growth, a tool that cultivates skills, confidence, and belief in togetherness. The ensembles of El Sistema Greece come together in a shared performance, a celebration where music is not simply heard, but shared.
El Sistema Greece is an educational music program focused on social inclusion, offering free access to high-quality music education for children and young people in Greece. Its goal is to create a musical community that embraces diversity and empowers its students by developing their musical skills while encouraging independent thinking and initiative. All activities are open to children and are offered free of charge in group settings. El Sistema Greece’s intercultural ensembles provide a unique approach to collective music learning, based on the principles and innovative teaching practices of Venezuela’s El Sistema.
